ABOUT COLLEGE YOUTH IDEATHON

In today’s fast-changing world, fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among college students is vital for India’s economic growth. ThinkStartup, in collaboration with the Management Entrepreneurship Professional Skills Council (MEPSC), introduces the COLLEGE YOUTH IDEATHON—a premier competition designed to ignite creativity and innovation among college students. This platform empowers youth to transform academic knowledge into innovative solutions and ventures through a multi-stage process of ideation, prototyping, and pitching ideas to experts.
Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), established in 1961 as the College of Engineering, became an IIT under the Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 1963. It was granted the status of a Deemed University with autonomy over academic policies and degree awards. Over 60,000 alumni have graduated across diverse fields, including engineering, sciences, management, and humanities, with around 5,070 earning Ph.D. degrees. IIT Delhi alumni contribute significantly to various sectors globally, including science, technology, business, politics, and NGOs, driving national and international development.

About MEPSC

Management Entrepreneurship Professional Skills Council (MEPSC) is a Horizontal Sector Skills Council formed on 15th December 2015 under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt of India, to bridge the employability gap. MEPSC focuses on job roles that are sector and industry agnostic. One of it’s key objectives is to promote entrepreneurship development across the country.
ThinkStartup is India’s largest facilitator and supporter of student entrepreneurship, dedicated to creating a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem for the nation’s youth. Our mission is to inspire, educate, and empower college and student entrepreneurs by offering a comprehensive platform for innovation and business growth. ThinkStartup provide structured entrepreneurship programs, expert mentorship, and growth opportunities, enabling young innovators to Build-Scale-Grow. In collaboration with key stakeholders such as MEPSC and the Atal Innovation Mission by NITI Aayog, ThinkStartup is at the forefront of driving entrepreneurship education and leadership development across India.

College Youth Ideathon OBJECTIVES
The objectives of College Youth Ideathon are as below:
- Cultivate a “Job Creator’s Mindset” by fostering a culture of innovation, risk taking, and entrepreneurialism among college students.
- Nurture high potential student ideas with incubation support
- Inspire college students to think innovatively and embrace entrepreneurship.
- Encourage the development of prototypes and scalable solutions.
- Offer a platform for interdisciplinary collaboration and learning for college students
- Activate and foster a vibrant Entrepreneurial Ecosystem by recognizing and nurturing promising ideas with financial grants and incubation support.
- Bridge the gap between Academia and Industry by facilitating collaborations between students, faculty, industry mentors, and investors.
- Recognise efforts of motivated college teachers / mentors and institutions who are working behind the scenes to develop entrepreneurship in colleges
