COMPETITION STAGES

COLLEGE YOUTH IDEATHON - COMPETITION FORMAT

Stage 1
Stage 1

Ideation and Submission

•Students can participate individually or form teams of up to 5 members.
• Brainstorm and develop innovative solutions or business ideas aligned with the chosen theme.
• Submit their ideas through the YI online portal.
• Time given: 4 weeks.
• Result publication: Within 2 days after the closure of the Idea Portal.
Stage 2

Selection of Top 2000

• A jury of experts will evaluate all submitted entries based on
creativity, innovation, and feasibility.
• The top 2000 teams (1000 Innovation and 1000 Entrepreneurship) will be shortlisted for the next stage.
• All shortlisted teams will receive certificates of participation and
teachers/mentors will be recognized.
• Top 1500 teams prepare and submit a short video pitch showcasing their idea.
• Time given: 3 - 5 days.
Stage 3

Selection of Top 500 Teams to Build MVP and Sell

• Top 500 teams receive a prototyping grant of up to Rs. 2,000
• Selected teams (Top 500) access ThinkStartup's Pre-Incubation Program and receive soft awards from YI partners and sponsors.
• Teams develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and create an MVP video.
• Time given: 1 week for MVP development and video.
• Additional 2 weeks to build and sell at The Student Company platform
• On the basis of daily progress, 250 teams shall be interviewed during this period.
Stage 4
Stage 4

Selection of Top 200 for Final Showcase

• Top 200 teams invited for Final Showcase at IIT Delhi
• Chance to raise investment
• Teams refine and prepare their projects for the final showcase.
• Time given: 1 week.
Stage 5
Stage 5

The Grand Finale at IIT Delhi

• The Top 200 teams will be invited to showcase their solutions or products at a grand finale event at IIT Delhi.
• Teams will present their ideas to a panel of distinguished judges
• The Top 2 teams in each theme will be selected for the Progress based Incubation Grant of upto Rs. 100,000/-
