Viksit Bharat: The Vision for a $5 Trillion Economy By Sanjana Y S

Bharat, in short, is nothing but a nation with huge visions and accomplishments. If you were to ask someone what the maximum scalability of adaptation and innovation a country could achieve, India would undoubtedly be the best answer they can give. If not for Bharat, it would be nothing less than fictional for a country to make such a great comeback after centuries of exploitation due to colonialism. And do we stop just there? Never, we always try to be better than the best!  The next long-term goal we have ahead of us is Viksit Bharat @2047. Owing up to the 100th year of independence, the Government Of India has set up an aspirational vision- To transform India into a fully-developed nation. Breaking down this plan into parts, we have the vision for a $5 trillion economy set right in 2027. The key element that can help us achieve this goal is for India to become as self-sufficient as possible. The pieces that can help us to achieve this include:

  1. Made in India: Why need foreign brands and goods when your dear own country has it all (with its own, unique style of course!)?  Imagine the number of jobs that can be provided by a single factory which manufactures goods for its own people.
  2. Startup India: The last thing India can run out of is TALENTED PEOPLE. Let’s create our own Silicon Valley (and definitely give it a unique, Indian identity) so that other nations can look back and take us as their inspiration.
  3. Digital India: This is something that we’ve clearly already achieved. Even the developed nations out there don’t have the ease of technology like digital payments like us.
  4. Skill India: No skill or talent goes to waste! Proper nurturing of young talents can make the country well-versed
    in……..almost everything!
  5. Development in key points: The already empowering sectors out there require nothing but pure support and proper ideation. Let’s put on some hands and minds to bring up (reminder: sky is the limit!) sectors like agriculture, manufacturing, infrastructure, etc.

If just a 15-year-old me can think up all these, imagine what the Government and the whole nation can think up for our future. The $5 Trillion Economy is not a dream anymore. It is something that we can bet on as we can literally see it happening in front of our own eyes. Therefore, let’s build up the nation of the future, for the future!
